Collaborated with Dept of Information Systems to create Arkansas Geographic Information Office;

Cooperated with Corps of Engineers to collect high resolution, color photos and LIDAR elevation data along the Arkansas River from Fort Smith to the Mississippi River (this data will be available soon);

Developed a cooperative of state, federal and university partners and facilitated the purchase of statewide Landsat satellite imagery, saving more than $500,000;

Assessed and responded to a need expressed by Arkansas stakeholders for color infrared aerial photography and new digital ortho quads for the state;

Coordinated a project with U.S. Geological Survey to provide updated aerial photos of the whole state; more than 50% of the state was flown in 2000 and the rest will be completed in 2001;

Conducted an audit of GIS capacities and inventory of geodata holdings with a survey to more than 1,500 persons;

Supported research at the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies (CAST), University of Arkansas, to develop technologies for a Seamless Warehouse for Arkansas GeoData (SWAG);

Supported the development of a Spatial Information Systems degree program at the School of Forest Resources, University of Arkansas, Monticello.
