Summary

Given the legislative efforts and the work of the Department of Information Systems, it is clear the leadership in Arkansas is setting the stage for technology to serve Arkansas. The next measure is to complete the map of the information network and users in Arkansas. With a technology map of the entire state of Arkansas depicting existing network consumers and potential network consumers across the state, Arkansas will be positioning itself to take advantage of the information age opportunities.

Government services and health care can utilize these opportunities and provide service in a 24x7x365 fashion. Economic development is enhanced because knowledge-based companies will have a system to see where information infrastructure exists.
